QA and System Test Engineer - QC242

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build, setup, config and execute system test cases to mimic large complex scenarios and support customer deployments
  • Collect test requirements, prepare and review test plan with different teams, build and manage large test setups, reports results and refine test methods
  • Work closely with test lead and developer(s) to resolve issues
  • Work closely with partners, integrators and customers to recreate and test customer issues and assist in field deployment and installation of OMNITROL and sensor network products
  • Simulate and test OMNITROL workflow and sensor driven applications using RFID, Mobile handhelds and PLC devices
  • Development of test scripts with TCL, PERL or Silk Test and Omnitrol internally developed SDL scripting for automation
  • Manage, setting up and maintaining a verification lab
  • Willing to travel to customer sites occasionally

Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years experience in system testing effort mainly in large complex scenarios, customer deployments and solutions
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in software development using Java or C/C++ in a Linux environment
  • Experience using various types of test equipment and tools as well as having a very clear understanding of simulating large number of end users
  • Experience in testing enterprise applications, database systems and user-interaction through desktop GUI, Web browsers and mobile handheld interfaces
  • Experience writing test plans, detailed test cases, and other formal test documentation
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills, and outstanding trouble-shooting ability, and coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to apply industry best practices and standards when project requirements are lacking
  • Verification experience with products operational aspects, Network Management, Command Line Interface, performance and capacity testing, stress testing, fault insertion
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced startup environment executing comprehensive testing on an aggressive timeline
  • Experience gathering sufficient details to log reproducible anomalies
  • Experience in switching, VLAN, VPN networking highly desired
  • The candidate must have an entrepreneurial attitude with high energy, drive, passion, excellent people skills and the reputation for making things happen
  • B.S. Degree in applicable field, preferably Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology
  • Have the flexibility to travel at least 30%
